The first phase of the Newfoundland’s EV fast-charging network is complete, and this is great news for those living here and traveling by electric vehicles. Our charging station in Corner Brook is now available, so you can cruise across the island in your EV with 14 stations at the ready.
With the EV charging stations, you can expect to fast-charge your electric vehicle up to 80% in just under an hour. This gives you plenty of time to hit the washrooms, grab a meal or take in some roadside views along your journey. With the ChargePoint App, you will be alerted when your EV is done charging and you can be on your way.

As for EV charging station costs here in Newfoundland, you will pay $15 and hour for the Level 3 chargers, and the cost for Level 2 Chargers will be $1.50 per hour. NL Hydro states that these charging rates are on par with the cost to charge in other networks within Atlantic Canada.
The EV charging stations across Newfoundland will of course be expanding over the next few years which will go along great with the new EV dealerships rolling into the province. I for one welcome it and hope it’s a great success as the world moves towards electric vehicles as the norm.
