It looks like Newfoundland & Labrador’s newest microbrewery will be in Salvage inside the upcoming Salvaje Longhouse that’s in the works. I usually browse Gov NL for tourism tidbits every other week and this application caught my eye.
The Salvaje Longhouse is proposing to establish and operate a microbrewery and tap room within an existing commercial building located at 111 Mountain View Road in the Town of Salvage. The tourism focused development would include renovations to the building’s interior to include the taproom, a 6,000 sq ft area that would contain the brewing equipment, as well as a retail shop.
The facility will utilize municipal water and sewer services and operate year-round which hopefully means jobs and tourists. I’d be interested in hearing what locals think of this, most of which have had meetings with the company owner according to an older CBC article.
So far I cannot find any beer specific information as I would love to know how far along are they with the microbrewery build. Is anyone tapped for head brewer, what kind of beer are they going to make first and so forth. I have requested the information and will update this post when I learn more.
