Provincial Government Fuels Growth for 10 Local Businesses with Marketing Support

As a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador, I’m always excited to see our government supporting local businesses. Today, I’m thrilled to share some fantastic news about the Business Growth Program and how it’s helping 10 diverse enterprises in our province.
The Honourable Andrew Parsons, KC, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, recently announced a significant investment of $356,000 to support small and medium-sized businesses in their marketing efforts.

This funding is a game-changer for these companies, and I can’t wait to see how they’ll use it to grow and thrive.

The Lucky 10: A Diverse Group of Local Enterprises

Let’s take a closer look at the businesses benefiting from this program:

  1. The BBQ Emporium ($25,700): Formerly known as Juniper BBQ Scraper Ltd., they’re focusing on direct-to-consumer sales of their wooden barbecue scrapers, boards, and spices. I’ve actually used their products, and they’re top-notch!
  2. DIVE Ventures Newfoundland Inc. ($31,050): This outdoor adventure tourism company in Trinity is implementing an AI tool to enhance customer interactions. As someone who loves our province’s natural beauty, I’m excited to see how this will improve the tourism experience.
  3. Dynamic Air Shelters Ltd. ($31,192): They’re expanding into U.S. and Middle East markets with their air-inflatable structures. It’s inspiring to see a local company going global!
  4. Newbornlander ($33,219): This St. John’s-based company is marketing their new product, The Island NL, a portable safe space for babies. As a parent, I appreciate their focus on ethical and sustainable baby products.
  5. The Newfoundland Distillery Company ($55,250): Located in Clarkes Beach, they’re investing in professional marketing and PR consultants. I’ve tasted their spirits, and they truly represent our local culture and ingredients.
  6. Newfoundland Insectarium ($17,600): This fascinating attraction is continuing its advertising campaign. It’s a must-visit spot that I always recommend to tourists.
  7. Oceanic Releaf Inc. ($100,000): This cannabis sector business is developing marketing materials for national and international markets. It’s interesting to see our province participating in this growing industry.
  8. Sea of Whales Adventures ($14,400): Based in Trinity, they’re enhancing their marketing to attract more visitors. I’ve been on one of their tours, and it’s an unforgettable experience.
  9. Trouty’s Point Holiday Home ($12,375): This vacation rental in Trouty is launching a digital marketing campaign. I badly want to stay here one day.
  10. Wetland Treatment Solutions Ltd. ($34,900): Founded just this year, they’re focusing on sustainable wastewater treatment. It’s encouraging to see new businesses in the sustainability sector emerging in our province.

The Impact on Our Community

As Minister Parsons pointed out, these small and medium-sized businesses play a crucial role in energizing our local economies and sustaining rural communities. I couldn’t agree more. These investments not only create jobs but also help build stronger communities and diversify our economy.

Looking Ahead

I’m genuinely excited about the future of these businesses and the positive impact they’ll have on our province. The Business Growth Program is proving to be an excellent initiative for helping our local enterprises spread the word about their products and services

As a proud Newfoundlander and Labradorian, I’ll be keeping an eye on these companies and supporting them whenever I can. I encourage you to do the same – after all, when our local businesses thrive, we all benefit!
