The most recent increase to the minimum wage rate of $0.50 occurred on October 1, 2023, bringing the minimum wage rate to $15.00 per hour. However, effective April 1, 2024, the hourly minimum wage will increase to C$15.60.

Additionally, it is scheduled to further increase to $15.40 per hour on October 1, 2024, and to $16.00 on the same date. These adjustments are in line with the annual adjustments based on the consumer price index, starting in 2024.
