Nan’s House – An Art Exhibit On This Weekend In Quidi Vidi

If you love local art and things of Nan’s past, then you’re going to want to get your rear end down the Quidi Vidi Plantation this weekend to see “Nan’s House – An Art Exhibit“. This is an event put on by The White’s Emporium and includes 10 other vendors showcasing some very incredible artwork. The event opens today at 12pm as well as tomorrow and Sunday, so don’t miss out!

As parents, we often hear our children express a desire to go to “Nan’s house” for a visit. These requests often stir up memories of our own childhood visits to relatives, past and present, and it’s these memories that were our inspiration.

This 8 piece exhibit is a chronological story of a weekend visit to “Nan’s House”. The pieces depict rural NL, past and present. We used various techniques in its creation including quilting, painting, and wood carving. Reclaimed wood and driftwood are intertwined to create our own unique style.

We hope you enjoy the exhibit and that “Nan’s House” will help rekindle some of your favourite childhood memories.

Along with this special exhibition, we will be showcasing 10-15 of our regularly available pieces.

This is a great chance to see what they have up for sale, as well you can snag some regular artwork from White’s Emporium in case you’re not able to get up to Twillingate any time soon. This is a great way to support local artists and enjoy a crisp Autumn day down in Quidi Vidi with friends and family.
