St. John’s Downtown Pedestrian Mall is now more accommodating than ever with the installation of new portable toilets. Located at the corner of Harbour Drive and Ayres Cove, these facilities include two accessible toilets and a hand-washing station, available daily from noon to 10 p.m. until September 2nd.
This initiative aims to enhance the shopping and dining experience for residents, tourists, and shoppers. The City of St. John’s is maintaining these facilities regularly and encourages the public to keep them clean and accessible. This trial will help determine the best long-term solution for public washroom access in the area.
Obviously our image of the portable toilets is not what’s actually down there, perhaps this will inspire our city to look at permanent structures that blend in and don’t look like futuristic prison bathrooms.
